ENDOMETRIOSIS

Endometriosis Treatment in Jumeirah, Dubai

Endometriosis is the development of uterine-lining tissue outside the uterus. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, heavy periods, and infertility.

The uterus lining growing outside the uterus is referred to as endometriosis. It is an extremely painful disorder. The condition goes to the ovaries, fallopian tube and tissues in the pelvis, in other rare occurrences the tissue can grow to other organs outside the pelvis. Uterus lining outside the uterus responds to hormones and bleeds at every month, but there is no outlet for the shedding, hence creating pain. Endometriomas may form and they are cysts that are filled with the fluid that does not escape. Scar tissues may form creating abrasions from the fibrous tissue. Fortunately, effective medical treatment for endometriosis are available.

Causes of Endometriosis

Retrograde menstruation: Menstrual blood flows back into the fallopian tubes rather than flowing out of the body. Endometrial cells outside the uterus bleed each month creating backflow of menstrual blood, hence creating pain.

Peritoneal cells transformation: It is supported by a theory known as induction theory. Peritoneal cells are induced to endometrial cells by either hormones or immune issues which undergo the normal menstrual cycle.

Embryonic cell transformation: Embryonic cells can transform into endometrial cells.

Surgical scar implantation: A c-section or a hysterectomy can cause some displacement of endometrial tissues creating cells outside the uterus.

Endometrial cell transport: The lymphatic or blood system can transport the cells from the uterus to other parts of the body.

Immune system disorder: Some immune disorders do not allow the body to recognize endometrial cells located outside the uterus.

Endometriosis Treatment

Medical treatment for endometriosis usually includes medication or surgery. The approach you and your doctor choose will depend on how extreme your signs and symptoms are and whether you willing to become pregnant.
