FILLERS

Dermal Fillers in Jumeirah, Dubai

Overview

The application of dermal filler has been called the ‘liquid facelift’ – a procedure that has the benefits of surgical facelift without going under the knife. These soft-tissue fillers can add more volume and provide immediate results without going under the knife and at a lower cost than surgery. Like Botox, dermal fillers are not permanent, but the procedure can be repeated to maintain the look.fillers

Before The Procedure

Our dermatologist or plastic surgeon will assess your needs and recommend one or a combination of the following filler treatments to achieve the results you would like:

  • Hyaluronic acid fillers. The hyaluronic acid draws fluid to the treated area.
  • Fat cells harvested from your body (autologous fat).
  • Calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse).

The surgeon will mark points as a guide for the injection sites.

During The Procedure

The injections are carried out the surgeon’s treatment room. A nurse will clean the area using antibacterial agent. Some dermal fillers have a numbing agent mixed with them, but for patients who are particularly sensitive to injections, the skin areas are also numbed with a local anesthetic. The procedure takes just a few minutes.

After The Procedure

You can expect some pain, redness, and swelling. These reactions may last up to a day and the surgeon will advise you to apply an ice pack to reduce any minor and temporary discomfort. The redness can be covered by make up. Some areas may require multiple injections and are done two weeks apart. Different fillers last different lengths of time since your body slowly absorbs the filler. The skin will eventually return to its pre-filler state.

 What you should know
Complications from dermal fillers are uncommon. But some patients have experienced minor problems such as:

  • Infection. Call your doctor if you have new redness, swelling, or pain after the first day. You may require a course of antibiotics.
  • Bleeding or bruising. Before a filler injection, avoid alcohol use and stop taking any blood-thinning medicine. This includes aspirin, another type of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), or vitamin E.
  • Allergic reactions, such as a rash, hives, swelling, or flu-like symptoms.
  • Lumpy skin surface after treatment. This could be due to the filler moving under the skin or a secondary reaction of your body to synthetic fillers.
